Ben Affleck proves himself a capable director with his directorial debut, but is out-shined by his brother who gives an Oscar-worthy performance. The film contains all the right elements of a crime drama, with all the suspense, emotions and mental turmoil of coming to a resolution. Amy Ryan gives a memorable performance as a drug-abusing mother while Morgan Freeman is ever consistent. In the end you're left with a moral dilemma of what is right, and what is for the better. By far one of the best films I've watched in a long time.
