The Hangover

Release Date: June 5, 2009
Runtime: 1 hr. 36 min.
Director: Todd Phillips
Cast:  Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Heather Graham.

Much like "Old School," director Todd Phillips delivers another solid comedy that shows grown men at the height of their stupidity. It's shameless, sometimes raunchy, but mostly laugh-out-loud funny. Even without Judd Apatow or the gang, the cast is great. Zach Galifianakis is the one to watch, with his deceiving intellect and appearance of 'fat Jesus.' The story plays at a good pace, never revealing too much until the very end. Though doubtful that any hangover could be this ludicrous, the scenarios are creative, if not brilliant. The only negatives I found were the blase presence of Heather Graham and the unnecessary overexposure of Dr. Ken, the crazy Asian villain. In the end, the constant shrieks of laughter from the audience justifies this as the best comedy of the summer.
