Although I have not read the book yet, the film was thoroughly entertaining, describing the ups & downs of life with the world's worst dog. The casting was okay with the exception of Alan Arkin who was great as his character. Of course, Marley stole the show by causing as much ruckus as any over-caffeinated dog would. The film lacked in areas of transitioning where the mood suddenly shifted from comedy to drama. As much as the trailer shows the funnier side of things, expect to witness both the beginning and end of the family's troubles with Marley. Even the most heartless person can't ignore the pain of losing a man's best friend.
